As a host community, what do we need to provide?
Steering Committee
A host organization is responsible for managing the resources to create a successful Artrain visit. This includes recruitment of the Steering Committee to coordinate the community stop.
Program Fee
Each program fee helps to cover a portion of operational expenses such as powering Artrain’s facility and lodging for tour staff. This allows Artrain to handle logistics so that your community's resources are concentrated where they are needed most. Also included with the program fee is Artrain's Community Connect & Fundraising program for developing sustainable funding based on your community's programs.
Appropriate Exhibition Location
Artrain’s mobile museum requires approximately 15,000 square feet of flat, level surface (within 6 inches of level for proper operation), preferable asphalt, concrete or similar hard surface. This area must be a safe distance away from busy street traffic, semi-trailer accessible and have visitor parking available nearby. If necessary, the host community is responsible for site clean-up, walkways, rubbish removal and toilet facilities.
Volunteers
Approximately 40 - 50 local volunteers are required to assist with the museum’s daily operations. This is a great way to get your community involved and excited!
Liability Insurance
The community must obtain liability / special event insurance and name Artrain, Inc. as an additional insured for the following amounts:
- Claims for personal injury or death: $1,000,000 for a single person
- For any one occurrence: $1,000,000
- For claims in respect to property damage: $1,000,000
- Name Artrain as an additional insured on your policy
Discounts Are Available!
Artrain covers operational expenses so that your community's resources are concentrated where they are needed most. Artrain encourages community collaboration and in the spirit of community building offers the following discount programs:
Commercial Housing Discount: Hotel accommodations for Artrain's onboard tour staff can often be donated. When your community selects this option a discount of up to $2,000 will be applied to your program fee.
Power Donation Discount: If commercial power is donated for Artrain's visit to your community, a discount of $2,000 will be applied to the program fee. If electrical power is not
available diesel fuel must be readily available. Artrain refuels every 2 days. While Artrain encourages the greener option of commercial power, diesel fuel may also be donated
to qualify for the power donation discount.
